ATHEIST Launch Official Web Site
September 1, 2005Long-defunct seminal technical metal pioneers ATHEIST have launched an official web site for fans to interact and comment on the much-anticipated reissues of the group's three full-length albums.
1988's "Piece of Time" will be following 1993's "Elements", and 1991's "Unquestionable Presence" which were released this week. Additionally, "Unquestionable Presence" will be featured in the October issue of Decibel magazine as part of its ongoing Hall of Fame feature. The Hall of Fame feature highlights influential and pivotal releases in metal history, and "Unquestionable Presence" will join of ranks of previously profiled classics such as SLAYER's "Reign In Blood", SEPULTURA's "Roots", and AT THE GATES' "Slaughter of the Soul", among others. The band also wish to ask anyone with any pictures, flyers or anything from ATHEIST to send them to the contact on the web site with your full name and country of origin and they will post it on the site with proper credit.
"The re-issued albums sound and look fucking amazing!" stated ATHEIST frontman Kelly Shaefer. "It has been a long time, and metal has come a long way. These records, I feel, are more relevant, and understood now than they ever were when they were first released. Listening to Steve Flynn's drumming again on 'Unquestionable Presence' was a major reminder of just how innovative he really was/is. not to mention the timeless technicality of the late Roger Patterson's bass playing, and the maniacal guitar wizardry of Rand Burkey. I am truly a fan of all of those guys, and honored to have made these records together. We hope the metal world will appreciate this small piece of metal history!"
